First off I just got to say sorry this site has been moving so slow lately, I have been super busy with work and getting some things done for the site.  I also wanted to say if you want a shirt make sure to email me or hit me up on facebook because I will be placing a small order this week. They are $18 and will come with free box stickers with shipping included.  Now on to what has been going on up here in Oregon.

Up here in Oregon we don’t get a lot of sun, but when we do we like to enjoy our cars as much as we can by taking drives to see the amazing things Oregon has to offer.  If you ever get the chance to make it up to Oregon make sure to hit me up or some of the car guys around the area to show you some great roads.  Well this past Sunday we had amazing weather that let us take a trip up to Portland area from Salem, once we made it up there we drove to The Dallas area to go to Maryhill and see what this place was all about. When we got to the area we made a few stop to site see because the area is amazing to just enjoy life.  We also stopped over at the museum at Maryhill.  They had lots of things to see there so be sure to check it out if you’re in the area.  When we were there the guys I was with started talking about Stonehedge and I didn’t realize they have one right down the street so we made our trek over there since it was right down the street from Maryhill Road.  We took a few images when we got there but we really just wanted to go check out Maryhill so we zoomed up there only to find out the road was closed for some longboarders who had some kind of event going on.  We got there just in time to catch all of them coming down super fast, there had to be over 200 guys/girls coming down.  Once you get up there you realize the hill is way bigger then videos make it seem, it’s no joke so be careful if you ever try driving it fast. So after all that we decited to head on down to ORP (Oregon Raceway Park) even though we knew it would be closed. We made our journey down to the city of Grass Valley where ORP is located, let me say there is nothing out there.  We pulled into this little town where if you had no idea the raceway was there you would just keep driving.  In town ther is a sign that said “Welcome Racers” with an arrow pointing to the direction of the track.  We turn on this road only to drive for about 2 miles and then as you come up over the last hill you will be amazed to see a full blown race track with so many up and down, turn after turn, and  you feel like it’s the gold at the end of the rainbow.  We got there only to pull up to a locked gate and could only see a small part of the track so we were sad thinking we were so close to this amazing track yet not close enough to enjoy the full thing.

There was only four of us with two cars hanging out by the gate when we noticed off in the distance someone get into a race car and start driving over to the main gate where we stood. First thought in my mind was maybe we can’t be there but then I started thinking what if this guy tells us to come back next weekend to see an event.  Little did we know it was going to be one of the guys who started this track, he pulled up and asked what we were doing.  Jeremy was quick to responed “We are just out for a drive and wanted to see where this track was since we have never been here” , guy says to Jeremy “Great, well Im Bill Murry ( I started laughing in my mind like is this guy for real) and then goes into asking if any of us had ever raced before.  After talking to him for a few he decited to give us a tour of the track.  We just couldn’t beleave what just happend and just jumped into the cars as if we were running from cops at a street race.  Everything happened so fast I couldn’t even think how I felt.

We get down to the track only to meet up with a lady who made us sign a waver so that we could be around the track.  We had no idea what was about to take  place and never will I ever forget this day.  Bill said “You guys ready to take a tour of the track? We are going to pull up to turn one and get out there were I will explain to you the history of the track” We got just an amazing history leason I can’t even tell you because You just had to be there.  After about a half hour of taking a tour and talking about the track Bill said lets do a few laps one way then after we will run a few laps going the other way.  Only thing he said was keep up and don’t pass me.  I was in heaven, I just wish I had drove my car on this amazing day.  After a few hours we left the track with smiles you could only dream of having.  The drive home was amazing and we couldn’t stop talking about what had just happen.  So on to a few images I took of our trip but make sure to come back because we did have the GOPRO HERO2 with us and rolling when we hit the track. As for all the little things I didn’t get into, maybe in my next post I can cover that stuff as well, so enjoy.

Well I’ve sat on these pictures long enough it feels like. At this point everyone is over the hype and everything of the event itself anyways, but here is a quick recap of what went down
It was probably one of the ugliest days in Southern California that I have seen in a while. And I’m not just sayin that because this took place in the 909. I’m saying this because it was cold as fuck, raining, and the wind was fucking howling. Oh and by the way we were in a tent if you havnt just skipped ahead to the pictures yet. Anyways now that your all caught on the parameters of the going night lets get into what went down with the most important part which is the music.
I was lucky enough to get a stage with some huge names and people that I have been dieing to finally see live. First being Treasure Fingers, known mostly for his remixing abilities and his funky melodic rifts. It was interesting to finally see and hear a set done by him. But here already comes the first interesting story of the night. So check this, so one the man shows up late, no problem who goves a shot who wants to start raving at 4pm anyways the sun is out and the lights wont have there full effect. But anyways back to what I was saying. So he comes back from his trailer with his girl or his ex, I dono who this bitch is, but this girl is absolutely trashed. So she is dancing all over he stage and falling everywhere. I knew at that point this was going to be an interesting night right here. The pinochle of her actions being that during his last song she hit the deck and smashed her face on the rail. Ahhh it was so great. He stormed off the stage which sucked because as I said before he is one of the producers that I have wanted to meet for some time now. So thank you drunk crazy bitch for fuckin that one up.
The sad part is that ended up being the craziest thing that I saw. After that I think everyone settled into a groove with things. Just some really great sets from the on except this one deep house puss. This mother fucker pissed me off to. Jamie Jones what a fucking tool of a Dj. This gay looking motha fucker hipster, fucking black guy with a cool runnings ragae haircut and French mustance something like a Rollie Fingers piece. I just took a step back and asked myself am I really seeing this. I didn’t take any pictures of him or his set. Seriously he lost a huge portion of the crowd. Just. Really really boring deep house set. And he thought he was killing it. All I really wanted to do was eat a dinner, take a shit, smoke a cigarette, and pass the fuck out. That’s how boring it was. But enough of that shit.
After he got the fuck out of there the rest p the night was just banged after banger. I would have to say the one who stole the show for me would have to be Alex Gaudino, just an amazing set. Hardwell followed right after him and kept the feeling going. I snuck away at this point to check out the girls of Nervo. Every shot I got of them was just whited out but it was good to check them out, legit duo. By the time I finally go back to my stage it was time for Dirty South. Another one I have been wanting to see live and he didn’t disappoint at all great selection of his own work intertwined with other anthems. Just an overall well thought out set.
After that was the power house of Max Vangeli and An21. They did what I expected them to do and play the huge anthems and have a close but similar sound to the people that they associate with. All in all it was a pretty good set. At least the mob of kids were going nuts and eating up everything that they put out at them. Lastly was an old favorite and everyone’s first taste of house music the good old ATB. I dono how he sti does it but he does. And its funny because he really ain’t that short and he always plays on a riser so the decks are like dick height to him. I dono how his back puts up with that shit, but I will say this is that he still knows how to put on a show.
And with that and the bells and whistles I’m gonna call it on making you read my schmuck of writing. I’ll let you guys know the next one I’m working and who knows maybe there will be some creeper shots of some pasties. Damn weather. Till next time Stay Fresh

So if you don’t like our page on Facebook or know Marcos then chances are you haven’t seen the videos I posted up this weekend. Well after talking with a few people we thought it would be funny to try to post up videos more often. We always seem to have funny stories of videos we take on our phones, so when I get back from Denver next weekend I well get something set up so that we start doing video blogging as well. Who knows what we will do, all I know is videos are a must.

Well, what a way to make a come back with this thing.  What has it been, like 6 months since the last time I wrote on this thing. A lot has gone down and things have changed as well.

Butt…

With all that said lets just get into What the Fuck is going down here, but in Cliff Notes of corse. So, lets get down to some business.  I put the sol in storage thinking that this time I was going to some how make it to Japan this time. Silly me.  The day I got orders in my hand was the same day that they canceled.  So with that being said, some other shit went down, blah blah blah.  So I’m going to be in Vegas for at least the next two years. So I wanted the sol back in the action of corse.  Cliff noted enough for your attention still?

So finally this past week I had a chance to go down to Cali and get her out hiding spot and get her to the shop.  See back the last time that I drove her I knew there was an internal problem with the engine, and well with my little brother taking care of her at the time she didn’t sound like she was going to make it threw a couple days of romping on.  So I decided to do the safe thing and turn her into Garage Life (I can’t get this new link shit to work so just look them up on FB there out of El Monte).  They have posted a couple updates already and I should know something soon.

So with that said enjoy the couple of pic’s I took and stay tune for more on the sol.

Well its been a busy week up here in Oregon for me and as you know being up here there’s not much to look at when the weather is shit.  Well last week I decided to make a run up north to Oregon City where ALL IN FABRICATION is located.  It was an early morning but I wanted to get there before the day started so that i had a few minutes to chat with Derek about things and see how his shop was going.  Continue reading »

Spending time with family is always a must, you just never know when something might happen to one of them and you lose your chance seeing them again.  At the beginning of the month I had to head down to Roseburg area to see some family and also to do a little photography work while I was down there.  It just happen to be the week before I was going to be down there I got a message from my cousin asking if I was going to be down there for the softball tournament that was going to be happening the weekend before the event I had to do images for.  Continue reading »

As I said on Facebook, starting this weekend I would bring you new stuff more and post up on facebook more rather than just posting on my own page. Well today is about over and I wanted to share with you Ann image I posted today. When I woke up I had in mind the famous notorious b.i.g. was murdered 15 years ago today, so in memory of him I wore my shirt to show that most people will never forget the amazing music he created ashis form of art. Christopher Wallace aka biggie was in my eyes one of the best hip hop artists of all time who will never be forgotten.. R.I.P.

I also want to leave this here for you to see because this is one amazing build I happen to find in a small town where my mom was getting her van worked on..

If you are in the import car scene then you would know this past weekend was Wekfest 4 in San Francisco California.  Every year this event seems to get bigger and bigger, just the line of people waiting to get into the event is crazy.  Well this year I went to Wekfest with a buddy of mine who helped me carry around my camera gear and we did things a little different then every other photographer/blogger/media, we waited in line just like everyone else.  We got a late start because we had a few things to do and by the time we got down to Fort Mason where the event was being held it was about 11 a.m. and the line was just ridiculous.  I think we waiting in line until 3:30 p.m. when we finally made it to the doors and while waiting in line I thought about a lot of things.  Some of those things are what I really want to talk about most but before I get into all that I want to talk about how good the event was.  There was 2 buildings full plus more cars parked outside for the event.  Most of you just want to get on with the images so I don’t blame you just please take the time to read this later.

Now that I got my phone hooked up with my wordpress again I can start posting more often.  In other news I have been super busy working on designs for the new clothing lines and other projects so that I can bring you more then cars and food blogs. For those of you that keep asking, no this site is not just about cars. I started Fresh Daily to be about anything we do in our lives that keeps us busy when we are not driving.

Well it’s been a few weeks since I have done anything but I did manage to get over to BCE designs in Las Vegas to do some work.  Just happens to be Force Fed was getting their drag car ready for IFO and they were having some work done there at BCE.  They call it Vinyl 3D wrap and the finish look is very good I might add.  Well once I made my way over to the shop I set up my camera so that I could take 1087 images of the work being performed by the guys at BCE so that I could turn it into a video as the finished product.  I also snapped a few more images at the end before my camera batteries died, as a photographer you should always be aware of your gear and make sure to have everything charged.  I on the other hand forgot since I had no idea I would end up doing this to make a video so I only had two of my batteries charged.  If you would like more information about this video you would like to know feel free to send me an email.  – Marcos

Living in Las Vegas has really made me realize how much I enjoy simple bars over clubs that are full of fake people. Call it what you want but Double Down Saloon is in my eyes the best dive bar I have ever been to. I have been to a lot of bars across the west coast and nothing is like this place, the vibes, the bartenders, and the people you meet there make you always feel welcomed. The first time I ever came to Vegas for a vacation I have seen bars come and go. The first time me and a group of friends went out we spent so much money on clubs, drinks, and cover charges. After that we wanted to see the other side of Vegas and see some local spots, Eric aka Dj Amnesia said he knew a spot we would like so he took us over to see “the happiest place on earth”. First thing you see when pulling up to Double Down is the sign outside that has those words so that’s why some people say that. Well if you haven’t been to Vegas or seen my post about this place then you have no idea what you are missing out on. Double Down is just on the way to the strip by the airport so if you want to check it out and get a cheap drink on the way to town, I say stop here first. They have a few house drinks but they are very well known for Ass Juice, if you have ever been out on a night of Vegas with me then you know what this drink is because it’s the first place I like taking people. I have taken Gregg from S3 magazine, few guys from Team Sun*Works, Roger that, and even locals that have not been out to this bar yet. It also seems to be the spot I like taking people who come visit me from Oregon because most of my friends from there are very into dive bars. Not only is the place a great drinking spot but they also have things like Puke Insurance, pool tables, and a jukebox with great music. The thing is not only do they have great music in their bar but they have some of the best live bands play there as well. I try to catch some live shows there when ever time permits me to go; about a year ago I ended up there because I was called by Dj Amnesia saying I needed to come see this band from Japan play. If you go back about a year on my blog you will see I wrote about it and how I didn’t have my camera. Well about three weeks ago I happen to be planning a trip back up to Oregon since I have not been up there in over a year to see family. Before making plans I looked to see who was playing at Double Down that week I had planned to go. Turns out The Heiz was playing again from a year ago that I had seen play, I had to make my way down to see them play again. This band came all the way from Tokyo Japan and it’s not like they came every month, this time I would go with my camera to get images. When I got there I also got to see a few other bands play, one of them being from Vegas and another one from Portland Oregon. I must say I had a great time like always and got to take some photos to share with you all who have not had the chance to get over to Double Down to have a few drinks. Anyways I hope to hear about your first time going and you must have some Ass Juice. Enjoy….

This trip was one of the most memorable trips I have ever made to California for so many reasons and there was no dull moments this weekend. For most of you out there that doesn’t know what the chronicles meet is or are not into cars, the meet is put on by stickydiljoe.com aka The Chronicles.  This blog has been dedicated to Hondas and is one of the best blogs to date, it has been a part of my life to follow this blog to keep up with the latest trends, events, and the west coast seen that I can’t always keep up with.  Well once I heard about this meet going on I hit up Aaron who also is one of my new blog writers.  I told him what was going on since he is also a follower of The Chronicles; he told me he was going to buy a VIP spot later that week then get back to me about going.  As time got closer I got to thinking what all needed to be done before making this trip.  I had a few plans to get dressed up for the show but didn’t know what I wanted to wear around so I got this crazy idea as always and I went out and bought a Gumby Halloween costume since I needed it for the following weekend in Vegas anyways.  When I told Aaron this idea I had he just couldn’t stop laughing about what this would look like rolling  into the meet with me dressed up like that in the Sol.

Friday October 21st finally arrived, the day we make our trek down to California.  It was kind of an odd day for me that day at work and I just didn’t care what was going on since I was about to head down to California.  As I sat there waiting for Aaron to text me I had a two people come into my work asking me if I would like to try this energy drink and if I would let them take a photo of me holding one I could have a box of them.  I was fast at saying “hell yeah” little did they know I would put them to the test later that night on the trek down to California.  The time was about 3:00 p.m. when Aaron finally showed up to my work, we made our way over to Home Depot to get some blue tape.  If you don’t know what blue tape is used for then just take a look at the photos.  Most car guys will do this on long runs with show cars, fresh paint, or just to protect the car from elements that might damage the paint.    Once the car was taped up we dropped my car off and loaded up the Del Sol and hit the road.

As soon as we hit the freeway it was like bumper to bumper traffic, traffic was moving steady and opened up a little more once we got out of Las Vegas.  The drive down was great since it was just cooling off for the day with the sun slowly dropping.  By the time we got to Aarons moms place we had a few hours to relax and get ready to venture to old town Pasadena to bar hop.  Last time I made the trip to downtown area I only got to see one bar where I got a little tipsy.  This time around I wanted to stay mellow and enjoy some of the local spots; we hit up this one place I think was called Jakes.  This place had some amazing   burgers and I wish I would have had my camera to take photos because the burger looked just as good as it tasted.  After eating there we made our way over to the great bar that had so much going on it really made me feel like I was in the hip-hop version of Double Down.  We kicked it over there and finished a few more beers as we talked about random things from the night.  The best part of the night was when some drunken girl came up and just started talking to us like we were her friends for years. She started asking us if we knew where her friend was because she couldn’t find him.  This drunken Asian guy then walks up next to us and starts like creeping, acting like he was part of the conversation until he knocks over this empty keg that was stacked next to him.  When they called last call it was funny to Aaron and I since we don’t have that out here in Las Vegas.

We made our way out of the bar and grabbed a taxi back to Aarons place. We need to get some sleep so that we could get up early morning to get things ready for Year 3.  When I got up around 8:30 a.m. to go see if Aaron was up I realized he was already outside working on his car.  I walked out there to find he had already washed the car and was already working on the cleaning of his engine bay.  As soon as he was done we got ready and I slipped into my Gumby costume.  We had to take the top off the Sol so that I could fit my head in the car since I had the Gumby costume on.  We rolled over to Corona where the event was taking place at Eibach Springs.  After arriving I walked around as Gumby for about two hours and let me tell you I was so hot I felt like I was stock in a hot house with no a/c.   I made my way over to the Sol to get out of Gumby and get my camera.  I started snapping images like always and after the meet was over we made our way to downtown L.A. so we could meet up with some people to get some dinner.

Driving around the city at dusk was one of the most amazing views I have seen in a longtime so I had to snap a photo as we were driving.  We drove into downtown and I just wanted to take photos of everything I saw as we drove by old buildings and signs.  I did get to snap a few while waiting to go to dinner and a few once we got to Mr. Pizza where the funny stuff would start.  I must say this pizza place was very nice and the food was amazing.  This was the first time I have ever had pizza with crab on it and sweet potato in the crust.  If you ever get a chance to go then get over there, just try something different.  Funny thing is my belt broke before we started eating, all I could think of is what was I going to do to keep my shorts on.  I told everyone that I was going to need to stop somewhere to get a new belt, then that’s when one of the girls we were with says “We can go to my place and I will make you one”  I was thinking this girl has to be joking.  After we finished eating we made another stop over at Yogurt Land because the girls wanted some.

After they finished their yogurt we headed over to the girls house who said she was going to make me a belt.  We got there and called in an order for delivery, yes delivery but not for food as most people would think.  This was delivery for a few six packs of beer, even in Vegas we don’t have anything like that or do we and I just don’t know.  As we wait for our delivery this girl is hard at work making me a belt from black denim.  Let me tell you, this was the funniest thing I think that has ever happened to me when on a trip.  I ended up using this belt for the rest of the weekend so she shaved me from spending money on a new one.  I almost forgot after we left to head back we started walking to Aarons Sol we saw about 14 cop cars and a ton walking around this building.  One of the police officers had a shot gun and as they walked past us he loaded it with a smile.  He was so excited that we decided it was better to walk around the other way to get to his car.

The next day we ended up just relaxing over at Aarons before we made our Trek back to Las Vegas.  I think a little after noon we got ready and started heading back only to get about an hour into our drive when we realized we were super hot in the car.  I looked at Aaron and said “Is it just me or did it just get really hot in here”, Aaron quickly replied back “I thought the same thing”.  We both looked down and his car was just starting to overheat so we pulled off the next exit to let the car cool down.  We didn’t know what the issue was so we ended up letting the car cool down.  We checked a few things before we decided not to go on so we turned around.  Once we got back on the road we started thinking what we were going to do to get back since Aaron had to be at work later that night.  We checked plane tickets, bus tickets, and maybe renting a car but all were too late to do.

We ended up catching a shuttle from there to Las Vegas that was much better then riding a bus.  This shuttle was only 40 bucks plus they had movies to watch on the road back.  On the way back we made a stop at this huge station that happens to be on Route 66, first thing that came to me was Amarillo Texas.  I love Route 66 since it has so much car history and with me being so into cars it was very touching.  When we stopped there we had something to eat and got to just relax before getting back into the van.  We made it back to Vegas in time for Aaron to go to work and me to get a good night’s rest.  So there you have it, my crazy 3 day weekend that was more of a YOU JUST HAD TO BE THERE moments.
